Sanctions:
It is important for everybody to understand that we will not tolerate unacceptable or inappropriate behaviour from pupils but we will do our best to deal with situations in as positive a way as possible.
The following stages will apply,
Stage 1:
             -praise the good behaviour of other children
             -ask the pupil a question
             -pause for chance of self correction
             -make eye contact
Stage 2:
             -show disapproval
             -draw attention to the individual
             -identify the misbehaviour and give positive instruction:i.e. please do not/ don’t do               -remind pupil of relevant rule
        -name to be added to behaviour chart
Stage 3:
             -pupil removed to work on table on own
             -stand against the wall if during lunchtime or playtime
             -if work not completed due to misbehaviour pupil kept in during playtime/                               lunchtime to complete work or it will be sent home for completion.
             -note to parent written in reading record by class teacher
Stage 4:
             -head teacher informed
             -pupil sent to another class area to work on own
             -parents informed by note
Stage 5:
             -loss of playtime to reflect on behaviour
             -head teacher informed
             -note in home/school book
             -if regular occurrence, parents telephoned
Stage 6:
             -removal to head teacher for remainder of day
             -parents contacted by telephone
             -if regular occurrence parents contacted to remove child from school
Stage 7:
The following behaviour will result in a parent being instructed to remove their child from school immediately and will be informed as to when the child may return. This will be put in writing, a copy sent to County Hall and the Chair of Governors informed.
            -refusal to move into another class
             -continued disruption in new situation
             -abusive language directed at adults or other children
             -behaviour putting selves or others in danger
             -deliberate damage to school property
Stage 8:
             -permanent exclusion considered, Governor and LEA involvement
In cases of extreme behaviour we reserve the right to ‘skip’ stages if we feel it is appropriate. All pupils are given equal access to the curriculum and all pupils will be subject to the same reward and sanction procedures.       
Rewards & Sanctions
Rewards:
Rewards are given for a wide range of achievements such as being helpful, good or improving work, politeness, good behaviour, representing the school, outside school achievements etc.
Rewards will be given in the following ways:
positive body language
named praise and encouragement
showing the class, another teacher or the head teacher a piece of work
stickers for good work, effort and/or behaviour
each class will have a ‘star of the week’ chosen for good work or behaviour

Achievement Assembly:
If your child receives 10 stickers on their chart they will be entered into the Achievement Assembly. Teachers can also put children straight into the Achievement Assembly. These will be publicly acknowledged in an assembly each week. Certificates will be awarded. Children are also encouraged to bring in achievements from home (swimming certificates etc..) to share with the school during this assembly.  
Acheivement Assembly points are tallied each week and a ‘prize’ will be awarded at the end of each term to the children with the most points.  

John Burnett Trophy:
John Burnett, a previous caretaker of the school, has donated a trophy to the school to be awarded each term.  This trophy is presented to a child who has shown the greatest improvement over the term.  We are very pleased to welcome Mr Burnet to our end of
School Uniform
Appearance is just one of the ways our children are judged when they are out of school within the wider community. School uniform creates a greater sense of belonging and identification. Our uniform is as follows:
Girls
             -grey skirt, pinafore dress or trousers
                -burgundy sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan with school logo
             -white blouse or polo shirt
             -red or yellow checked summer dress
             -white, black or grey socks or tights
Boys
             -grey trousers or shorts
             -white shirt or polo shirt
             -burgundy sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan with school logo
             -black or grey socks or tights
PE
             -black or blue shorts
                -yellow T-shirt with school logo
             -black school plimsolls (trainers on request of the teacher)
             -tracksuit jumper and trousers for chilly weather
